The 'Mycelium Interwoven' collection at Berlin Fashion Week 2024. This post reflects on the presentation of sustainable fashion that combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative biotechnology.

As the designer and founder of my label, I had the opportunity to present my final collection “Mycelium Interwoven” at Berlin Fashion Week on 2 July 2024. This experience was a significant step for me in introducing my vision of sustainable and innovative fashion to a broader audience.
The presentation of my collection took place as part of Neo Fashion, an event within Berlin Fashion Week that provides a platform for emerging designers. For me personally, it was a unique opportunity to showcase my work alongside other innovative collections and position myself as part of a new generation of fashion designers who prioritise sustainability.
My “Mycelium Interwoven” collection embodies my idea of a revolution in the fashion industry. It combines traditional craftsmanship with groundbreaking biotechnology and demonstrates how fungal mycelium can be used as a sustainable material in fashion.
The presentation offered me the chance to introduce a diverse audience to the potential applications of fungi in the fashion industry. From elegant evening gowns to everyday pieces – my collection demonstrated the versatility and beauty of this innovative material.
The response to my collection was very encouraging for me. It was inspiring to see how many people are enthusiastic about sustainable materials and innovative design approaches in fashion. I was particularly pleased that my presentation helped raise awareness of the possibilities of fungal mycelium in the fashion industry.
This experience reinforces my mission to create fashion that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also makes a positive contribution to the environment. The presentation was more than just a show for me – it was the beginning of an important dialogue about the future of fashion.
At this point, I would like to express special thanks. Large fashion events like this are only possible through the tireless efforts of many people behind the scenes. My sincere thanks go to the entire technical team, the stage workers, the hair and makeup artists, the dressing assistants, and everyone else who contributed to the success of the show with their hard work and dedication. Their professionalism and dedication allowed me and many other designers to bring our visions to life on stage.
Participating in Berlin Fashion Week has given me valuable insights into the industry. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my vision with an engaged and interested audience.
This experience motivates me to continue working at the intersection of innovation and sustainability. I look forward to incorporating my insights into future collections and continuing to pioneer sustainable fashion materials.
This is just the beginning of my journey to revolutionise the fashion industry through innovative, environmentally friendly designs.
